Instead of navigating to the Ask a Question page, we have now integrated a Quick Question form right on the home page, meaning that members can instantly ask a question. This will improve the number of questions that gets asked on your site leading to increased page views and popularity. If the person wants to spend more time on the question they are asking they can easily go to the more detailed form, but the Quick Question form has already found to increase the number of questions posted to a site simply because it's very obvious and easy to use. And don't forget, the more questions there are on your site, the more people can find your site in the search engines!

Just like the Quick Question form, there are now Quick Answer options on all questions. This is simply a text box where the answer can be entered and submitted without any other information required. We found that most of the questions that get asked on customer sites can be answered with one or two sentences which is why the Quick Answer function was added. More Answers means more people will find your site useful and keep coming back.

URL Modification

Now there is no distinction in the URL between a visitor and a logged in member. Previously we added '/member/' to the URL to indicate that the person was logged in, but after consultation with the customers we decided to remove this option. Although you won't notice much difference in functionality it is more of a aesthetic change.

By popular request from our customers, we have added the ability to search for Video / Audio questions and answers directly from the search box instead of having to go to the Advanced Search to find this. Most new users navigate around the site by using the search option to find exactly what they were looking for and a large majority were using the Advanced Search to refine their results.
